# Privacy Policy

## What kind of site this is

The Audit Trail is a static site served through Cloudflare. There is no application server processing requests on our side. Cloudflare processes request data (IP address, user agent, and request logs) to deliver and protect the site. See [Cloudflare’s privacy policy](https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/) for details on how Cloudflare handles that data.

## What we do not run

This site sets no cookies. We run no analytics service, advertising network, tracking pixel, or embedded third-party form. All fonts are self-hosted.

## Browser storage

When you toggle dark mode, the site stores your preference in your browser’s localStorage under the key “theme”. That value stays on your device and is never sent to us or to any third party.

## If you email us

If you send us a message at [hello@theauditrail.com](mailto:hello@theauditrail.com), we keep the message and your address to reply and to maintain a record of corrections and re-score requests. Mail to that address passes through Cloudflare Email Routing and our email provider on its way to us. We do not sell that information or share it with anyone else.

## Vendor business contacts

If a vendor contacts us to discuss a listing, review, or mention product, we keep that correspondence for the purpose of the commercial relationship.

## Your rights

You may contact us at [hello@theauditrail.com](mailto:hello@theauditrail.com) to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. This applies whether you are in the UK, the European Economic Area, or a US state with a privacy law that gives you those rights.

## Children

This site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

## Changes

When we change this policy, we update the date at the top of the page. The current version is dated 29 September 2026.
